Kuala Lumpur – PMB Investment Berhad (PMB Investment) today launched its first global fund, the PMB Shariah Global Equity Fund (PMBSGEF), which focuses on global equities to provide easy access for investors to invest in a Shariah-compliant investment portfolio in global markets.

According to the CEO of PMB Investment, Ms. Mahani Ibrahim, “The PMBSGEF fund offers capital growth in the medium to long term by investing in a diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant securities listed in global markets. It is also suitable for investors with a medium to high risk tolerance in unit trust investments.”

The online launch event was officiated by YB Dato' Seri Mahdzir Khalid, the Minister of Rural Development.

YB Dato' Seri Mahdzir Khalid said, “The launch of this fund marks another success for PMB Investment in fulfilling its mission to provide all Malaysians with easy access to global unit trust markets, with an affordable initial investment despite the current challenging economic conditions.”

The initial investment is RM1,000 for individual investors and RM10,000 for corporate investors, while additional investments can be made with amounts of RM100 and RM1,000 respectively. The fund is priced at RM0.50 per unit, and investors can contact PMB Investment’s Unit Trust Consultants or the sales offices nationwide.

Ms. Mahani Ibrahim further explained that the fund’s investment focus is on global equities with an asset allocation of up to 99.5%. The fund will invest in high-growth, Shariah-compliant companies across 15 countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, and others.

“PMB Investment has partnered with Nasdaq Dorsey Wright (NDW), an advisory firm to Wall Street and global investments, to manage the PMBSGEF using their investment methodology and strategies,” she added.

“PMBSGEF presents an exciting opportunity for Malaysian investors who wish to diversify their income through a Shariah-compliant global investment platform, in line with the global economic recovery following the COVID-19 vaccination rollout,” Mahani added.
