PMB Investment Receives Three Awards at Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards 2023

Kuala Lumpur, [Insert Date] – PMB Investment Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pelaburan MARA Berhad, received three (3) prestigious awards in the Islamic unit trust fund categories at the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards 2023 held today.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Pelaburan MARA, Mahdzir Othman, shared,

“We are truly honoured and grateful for PMB Investment’s success in winning two awards for two of our funds. In addition, being recognised as ‘Best Equity Group - Malaysia Provident Funds’ is another proud achievement, especially in the face of the pandemic which has brought about socio-economic and political instability.”

The winning funds are:

• PMB Shariah Tactical Fund (PMB STF) – Winner of the ‘Mixed Asset MYR Flexible Best Fund’ category for the five-year period ended 31 December 2022.

• PMB Shariah Equity Fund (PMB SEF) – Winner of the ‘Equity Malaysia Diversified Best Fund’ category for both the three-year and five-year periods ended 31 December 2022.

Commenting further, Mahdzir added,

“We will continue to focus on enhancing our investors’ portfolios by delivering consistent performance and investment solutions that maximise opportunities across all market conditions.”

Chief Executive Officer of PMB Investment, Mahani Ibrahim, also expressed her appreciation:

The PMB Shariah Tactical Fund delivered a 16% return over the five-year period ending 31 December 2022, while the PMB Shariah Equity Fund recorded an impressive 95% return over three years and 89% over five years, both ending on 31 December 2022.

Mahani further noted,

“Investors naturally seek strong-performing funds. PMB Shariah Equity Fund has maintained its performance throughout these challenging times, achieving a 29% return for the one-year period ending 28 February 2023, while PMB Shariah Tactical Fund recorded a 10% return for the same period.”
