KUALA LUMPUR – SMSR Resources Sdn. Bhd. (SMSR) has secured financial assistance worth RM3 million from PMB Tijari Bhd. (PMB Tijari).
The fund is intended for the supply, delivery, testing, and maintenance of nearly 400 units of fiberglass rescue boats, including towing trailers, for the use of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).
SMSR Director, Syed Shukran Syed Muhamad, stated that the fiberglass rescue boats will be utilised nationwide, including in Sabah and Sarawak, during flood disasters or other emergency situations that require boat support.
“A total of 285 rescue boats have been delivered to APM throughout the country since early 2018, and today, 106 rescue boats have been handed over as the final batch of this project,” he said in a statement issued yesterday.
Furthermore, commenting on the matter, Chief Executive Officer of PMB Tijari, Wan Sazriz Wan Zaid, said that the company is focused on empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across various sectors through shariah-compliant financial solutions for both domestic and global markets.
He explained that as of last September, PMB Tijari has provided financing to several key sectors including transportation, oil, gas & energy, technology & information, and the healthcare sector.
“The transportation sector accounts for the largest percentage of financing, comprising nearly 70% of the total financing value,” he added.
